I did not mic the bullets on the S&B factory rounds, but I have read reports that they use the smaller “6.5” bullets. Once this whole moving thing is settled, I’ll load up the Steinel slugs and see if that gives better groupings.
The box says 264

Well, maybe the steinel .267 and .268 slugs will make a difference.
If I ever get some free time to load them up

I have a friend who owns a collection of spaghetti shooters. Loaded with the correct bullets his Kennedy killer will hold sub 6 in at 100. (plenty capable of making the shots in TX, 80 yards, missed twice) I dont know that he got that good of a result from the carbines. The Carcano is (IIRC) battle sighted permanently to about 300 so even with a group it will be high.

Are they 6.5 cal as in fit a 6.5 Swede or some additional metrics involved? Not familiar with the Carcano.
The “6.5mm” for the Carcano is different from pretty much all the other 6.5s out there. Which is one of the reasons most people consider the Carcano to be inaccurate- because it’s normally shooting undersized bullets if you use the “wrong” 6.5 bullets.
Poop.
What are you looking for Zee.
.266 may be perfect
Lead swages right down....
