The can manufacturers should be happy that it'll still require a 4473 or a manufacturer FFL to make them or else I'd put them out of business. I guarantee I could make 10 a day. $99.95

Yes. There will be NONE to be had for a while. But then once Ruger, and Palmetto, and start making them they will be everywhere. Hell Savage makes them now.
.22 cans should be CHEAP soon.

I can see that happening. Thankfully those of us with a lathe won't see the shortage. I'm curious how such a transition to a new law like this will work, after having then on the nfa for so long. The letter people will probably attempt to overstep their boundaries in some way at first, but who knows.

On all of the 2A YouTube channels I've watched about the suppressor ordeal and them coming off of the NFA, I keep seeing quite a few comments of people saying "tHe ShOrT aCt iS mUcH mOrE iMpOrTaNt." I get that everyone is different but I've never understood such a desire for the SBR, especially with braces. What's so cool about it? Wow, you can navigate your hallways easier! Or is it because it's something that's been taboo for so long? There's alot more useful stuff I'd rather see come off the NFA first (since it can't ALL just come off of it.)

And once my reamer arrives I’ll get the barrel chambered, and patiently wait the outcome before determining the final length.

This is pretty much my train of thought. I'd like them all off and although I get that other people like them for some reason unbeknownst to me, I have absolutely no use or desire for an SBR but have plenty of use for quieter firearms.

So now we get the massive spending bill with the $5,000,000,000,000 increase to the debt ceiling and the projected "additional" meaning on top of all the rest $4,000,000,000,000 to the debt. And they aren't even going to spit on it or give us a reach around while they do it.

I suppose there is a small chance if they replace the parliamentarian, but I will not hold my breath.

I sincerely don't give a solitary shìt about the countries debt, debt ceiling, etc...
They're going to take what they take as taxes and it'll never be less than it was prior. All I want is my firearm rights..... All of them but apparently that's too much to ask for. I'm so sick of how this government operates but there's no turning back. They've perfected the, "Let them eat cake," because nobody will ever do shìt to change it, including me.

At least the $200 butt **** tax was removed. Lawsuits have already been filed to remove the gun registry.

Now we wait 25 years till it makes it through the courts.

Meanwhile since Im already on the suppressor list, as soon as the no BF tax is officially gone, I’ll submit a form one and get to making a .22 can.

Removing the tax is a SMALL, BABY step in the right direction. I'll be surprised if it goes into effect any time soon. A lawsuit filed in a liberal district court will have an injunction filed on it before the end of next week, is my prediction.

Keep in mind, my crystal ball is broken, after my cat pushed it off the table. So I could be completely mistaken and it'll go into effect 1/1/26
I wouldn't bet on that outcome though.

Here's what Silencer SHOP (not central) says about it

H.R.1 (“One Big Beautiful Bill”) expect to be signed July 4, 2025, it includes significant changes for gun owners.

$200 tax stamps for suppressors, SBRs, SBSs, and AOWs reduced to $0 starting January 1, 2026.

NFA process and registry remain—for now. Forms, fingerprints, and approvals still required.

Full deregulation (HPA & SHORT) was blocked by the Senate Byrd Rule.

Senate compromise: Free tax stamps, but not full removal from the NFA.

New legal opportunities: Zeroing out the tax opens the door to challenge the NFA in court.

We're suing: There is precendent for $0 taxes being unconstitutional–we're going to fight to repeal the NFA

I bolded and underlined what I feel is the most important part.

Plus, I see the effective date is 01/01/2026.
I see a MAJOR drop in sales of silencers for the rest of the year

I've never really gave a damn about the 200 OR the registry. Hell they already know everything that's ever been on a 4473 anyways. I care about the goddamn wait period that the NFA causes, especially on a form 1.

It's funny that there are only 2000 some ATF agents in the whole US but millions of us gun owners but they pick people off one by one. Imagine if someone developed an app with an emergency GPS locator button that a person could push "incase of emergency" where all app users could converge on said emergency location". I bet that shìt would stop real quick.

I guess I just don't remember a pissing match ever starting here on this political forum but that's not saying that it hasn't.

As to your comment, you make a solid point and it's one that took me years realize as well. On another forum I got scolded pretty bad by a bunch of members on a topic of "Respecting your elders." I asked why should an old person automatically get my respect because even stupid àssholes become old folks. The ONLY reason they could come up with was, "bEcAuSe ThAtS wHaT mY pApA tOLd Me."

There's alot of mentality that needs to die. I've always said that blind support based off of a title is the stupidest thing a person can do.
