I usually like the look of a straight stock on older style guns, but that carbine looks fantastic.
Yeah no yeah. I’m all for “ruining classics”, but that stock shape looks like it was carved out in shop class by the kid who’s gripping the class guinea pig too tight.

We're see two entirely different things. That is the best part about America. You are entitled to be wrong and I am entitled to be right.

Pump rifles are just a load of fun. Enough so that I will even admit to owning a Taurus version

And my all time favorite pump rifle. Remington 141 gamemaster in 35 Remington. Would really like to hunt with it someday.

"Gripping the guinea pig". . . Are we talking about an actual guinea pig, or is this a metaphor?

Both now, but the Remington has been there for a while. An itch I’ll probably never get to scratch.

My God, that's a beautiful rifle (the one on the top). And I say this not even considering the price point but that's too nice to shoot, nonetheless hunt with. I'd be scared to leave fingerprints on it

. They really knocked it out of the park on that one though.

Nothing you can do to this gun that won’t just tell your own story. And I just saw the first place that has it for preorder in the $1700 range. Not cheap but considering REM 700s and Marlin levers are now a $1k+ guns (remember when we used to buy them at Dicks for $299 for the base models?) that is not out of line for a nice high quality traditional design. Uberti 1873s are in the mid $1k and the Winchester Japanese ones are over $2k. They just brought back the Uberti 1876 and it’s now north of $1,700 too (I need a Tom Horn gun

)
So while I don’t know that this would be a crawl on your belly though gravel to stalk game gun it’s also not a keep wrapped in shearling in the safe either. And if the local natives ever decide to take their land back I can keep their heads down behind boulders a far bit away from the cabin.

And while I’m at it I’m glad at least some manufacturers are willing to NOT compromise in quality materials and workmanship even if the price points go up and their market shrinks a bit. These Italian guys have figured out that their customers are willing to reward them with loyalty and $$$. And every time I get a new example I’m just amazed at the fit and finish of their guns.
Colt and Winchester are still trying to appeal to who knows who by pricing their guns based on name and legacy vs actual value while Uberti is putting out real value on guns that are as good or in many cases better than the originals and we’re not afraid to shoot and enjoy them.
