There’s about ten times I would have told some body something that rhymes with truck off.

We were trying to get a feel how the place was run, I brought some "tip" money for the guides but after I got there I wondered if $100-200 would be insulting to the guides with the crowd they normally deal with, I *think* some of the other winners may have greased some palms and had some nice deer harvested, nobody shared that they bribed guides, I was skeptical enough that I was not blowing 200$. I am pretty sure the Grizzly marketing VP shared with the owner how things went, not sure he cared. I was up for almost 24hrs the first day because of the travel delays, I was just trying to focus on getting a big deer the first couple days, hoping my hunting mates were not sociopaths, hoping the guides were responsive to getting me on a deer, hoping I was not going to fudge a shot on a 130"+ deer, I was not too annoyed until about day 3

That sucks.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure I would have been labeled a problem child pretty damn early in that process.

I know several people that are guides, and some people that have worked on the largest and most famous game ranches in Texas. My experience has been nothing like that. But I can tell you that your guide can make your hunt really suck if you are an asshole. One story I remember is the hunter that got plastered and became a belligerent drunk one night of his hunt (this is a danger with an open bar), and the guides were required to stay with thier Hunter as long as they were up. The guide made sure to wake his butt up earlier than normal, and made him hike up all sorts of hills and through brush… got the Hunter to puke twice while on the morning hunt

I've always dreamed of a high-paying position in a customer service job with no customers. Never been able to quite pull that off. . .

Good and bad. Many Midwest farmers augment their income through hunting. I have seen some that issue leases to others that offer bunk house like lodging, meals, guides, blinds and stands, and meat processing. Price for a week or until tags are filled go for $3-5K. I don’t believe they stock animals or high fence. Some offer spring turkey hunts as well as whitetail firearm and archery hunts.

I must have two or three camera's on me at all times!

I had a professional videographer/photographer with me doing the filming, took the from fall of 2022 to finish the editing
