Wow I didn’t realize armadillos are now as far north as Nebraska
Thanksgiving is coming so anyone have any favorite recipes?

I have three different groundhogs dead in their holes within 50 feet of the house (.22 short thru the lungs). I fill in the hole as far as I can (2'-3') and never smell them.

I have a couple whistlepigs living under my deck. Living in the city has some major limitations when it comes to being able to take care of nuisance critters. A .22 would be good medicine, but im not risking getting caught. Probably try to rip the deck out this year and then figure out what to do with the buggers.
.22 quiets out of a bolt gun are not that loud.. one shot does not get a response. I used to shoot nuecence iguanas in Miami
Traps are the only 100% safe bet (legally) in most cities but I will say I own a bunch of old long barreled .22 bolt guns and there is zero chance of anyone calling the police on the report of a single round of CCI .22 Quiets or CB Shorts or Longs. The report is quieter than most other normal sounds folks make around their houses.

I may have dispatched a grey squirrel with .22 mag birdshot in a residential area way over a decade ago, nobody in the neighborhood was aware, and my neighbors are all gun folks

Standard velocity + LONG barrel = very quiet 22LR

I've shot my 28"CZ off the back deck and the wife didn't notice. AAMOF, she asked why I didn't shoot.

NOT silencer quiet, but less noise than my spring powered pellet rifle

Stepped outside the camper to piss. From under my truck pops an armadillo. We surprised each other. I ran and grabbed my .22. Fired once and missed. Proceeded to chase him through knee high grass in my skivies and crocs. Never did get him

Lots of nosey neighbors that like to cause problems for people in the neighborhood. Im honestly surprised I have not gotten an ordinance violation for the camper being in the driveway yet.
