Traps are the only 100% safe bet (legally) in most cities but I will say I own a bunch of old long barreled .22 bolt guns and there is zero chance of anyone calling the police on the report of a single round of CCI .22 Quiets or CB Shorts or Longs. I have a couple whistlepigs living under my deck. Living in the city has some major limitations when it comes to being able to take care of nuisance critters. A .22 would be good medicine, but im not risking getting caught. Probably try to rip the deck out this year and then figure out what to do with the buggers.
