Bullsi posted the "Old Fashioned Country Sausage Gravy."
Knitepoet, your link is to "Country Sausage Gravy."
They're not the same.

You probably use Jiffy Mix for your cornbread!

I’ve always done Jimmy Dean hot sausage, browned and crumbled. About an equal amount of flour to grease, constantly stirred and cooked a bit to get rid of the flour taste. Then add milk and simmer for desired consistency, with a bit of salt and way too much fresh ground black pepper.. Skip the biscuits for convenience. Put it on toast, SOS style, with a couple fried eggs on top.
That's pretty much what the boss does too, kids inhale it.

I used to say that about coffee.
This is pretty damned decent.

Totally agree.
That’s why I tried the instant. It was something easy to make to keep in my camper.

Note that Jimmy Dean is owned by Sara Lee, an anti second amendment corporation.

We use Tennessee Pride sausage, it's good and costs almost half of what Jimmy Dean's cost. In fact, this thread stirred up a craving and we just finished our biscuits and gravy breakfast.

I’m thankful to have a local grocery store with an awesome butcher shop that makes breakfast sausage.
I almost can’t eat any of the regular store bought sausage after having the good stuff.

For outdoor use I have a molita Use brown filters and medium grind. The ratio is 15:1 water to coffee. Add boiling water stir until everything that floats sinks.
