Have you been to the VA yet? I need to make an appointment to the one in town. At least get my name in the system.
My brother Bob's brother Larry gets all of his medical through them and he's had 4 strokes and a quintuple bypass.
Not yet. I have been told that with the hearing and the close proximity to jet engines, 10 inches for ignition then headed to full military power, that I should get my butt there.

They do means testing at the VA, right?
Pretty sure, but that doesnt mean you get bumped. A few in the MCL have done pretty well for themselves and they go.

By now you should be able to do two years standing on your head, and changing to something else would probably be a lot more stressful and disruptive. Go through the motions, accept that you aren't changing anything - which will cut off some of the soul-sucking effect - and pull the plug when most advantageous.

I can tell you from personal experience, you don't want an entry level job in your late 40's. The four jobs I had in the three years we were in Florida took 10-15 years off of my body. Especially my hands and feet.
My wife thinks working at Lowe's would be easy. They wear back braces for a reason.

Firecalc isn't Monte Carlo. It compares your input against history and determines if any potential failure points exist. It doesn't try to predict future market conditions.
Well running it pretty much mirrors the monte carlo's I have. A good Monte Carlo will estimate bull and bear markets and add them in to the future possibility's. IE the "worst case" should mirror the down turns that the markets have already seen, or worse.
