I started shimming all my muzzle devices when I started using a suppressor. I’m too lazy to sand each one. Especially when I have 10 or 12 of them.

A smart guy once told me how to shim brakes without having to take the brake on and off. Thread the device on with no shims until it touches the shoulder. Back if off until it’s just enough before 12 o’clock that you think it’ll tighten to where it’s supposed to be. Try different shim combinations, sticking them in the side between the brake and shoulder until you get a snug fit. Take the brake off, put the shims on and tighten.

Yea, that guy didn't bother telling me about that. Can't count how many times I took the brake on and off trying different combinations. I kept having this feeling of him laughing at me until i figured it out.

As for the crush washer effecting the muzzle device, i still cant see it but it must be so

Did you watch the video I posted?
There’s enough wiggle in the threads that if the crush washer isn’t flat, it will cock the muzzle device over.
Picture this.
You put a quarter on the table. You set the edge of your whiskey glass. Now it’s tilted. Same same.

There’s enough wiggle in the threads that if the crush washer isn’t flat, it will cock the muzzle device over.

Manufacturer should supply a set of shims instead of the crush washer. 12th Man would have never had this issue.
