Thanks guys, just managed to get on with my phone, had to reset my password.

Original hospital apparently gave me some plavix during my cardiac cath, and that had my "blood too thin" for the open heart. That lab's back in range, so " get my zipper " in the morning. Will be in ICU/CCU for a few days, so doubt I'll have my phone, but will try to make sure the Mrs keeps Enzo informed.

Thanks again for all the prayers and good thoughts, will hopefully be seeing y'all on the other side of this. Surgeon put it this way, "If you survive the procedure, you should do fine long term, but getting there is going to suck"

I had an artificial valve put in a couple years ago. Be ready for some couch time.

Have some bath wipes on hand for the first week or so since the first shower is a hoot!

Surgeon came by, on the schedule for 10am tomorrow.

Good luck Paul. My advice is to get your ass out of bed and moving as soon as you can and then keep moving as much as you can. It is going to suck at first but the good news is that every day, you will get a little better.

10am central, just under 5hrs from now.
I've been shaved from neck to ankles, had my disinfectant shower and had my meds. Pretty sure that I won't be allowed my phone until I get out of CICU.
So this is probably my last post for a few days. Wife has contact info for a couple of members, so hopefully they'll update this thread when/if I get out of surgery.

Prayers worked. Cindy just called and Paul is out of surgery. They only had to do 3 vessels and he’ll be in ICU through the night but prognosis is good. Thanks to all that sent the good vibes his way.
