Forgot to post this one. From opening weekend back first of October.
8.5yr old Management buck. Was a 10pt last year. Went down hill.
205lbs live / 155lbs dressed
6mm Creedmoor
108gr ELD-M
100yrds
Ran about 30yrds.

The 108gr ELD-M proved to be quite soft. Much softer than the 105 A-Max. Massive damage! Wouldn’t really recommend the 108 for deer if you plan on salvaging meat.

More big bucks than usual being harvested in Ohio this year. 1/2 mile from the house is a roadkill buck that has an ENORMOUS body. Don't know how big the rack was because some caped it before I saw it.
Some of this years kills are near records and at least one will be........

I put two bug bombs in one of the blinds this week to kill the 200 hibernating wasps before this weekend!

Those new blinds are not tight enough to keep out wasps? That is surprising

No, it’s the old blind I had to bomb.

We got rid of all the cull bucks we wanted out of the gene pool this week. My contribution was this 6 point that I shot through the neck/ spine at about 65 yards with the PSA KS-47 running my hand loads of the Sierra ProHunter 125 grain soft point. Complete bang-flop. The deer’s eyes were still moving when we came up on it, so it did get a .22LR finisher to the back of the skull.

Repeat hunters came out this past Saturday. A grandfather/Grandson duo. And of course, they only had one day to hunt. They never make it easy on me.

They were after some specific animals which makes it harder and with 2 hunters, only 2 hunts and, and 3 animals they were after……..I enlisted my hunting partner to help guide.
I let the grandfather hunt with my buddy Saturday morning and they were after a 5pt cull buck. I’d only seen him on camera in one location so that’s where they went. I took the grandson after an 8pt Management Buck I call “Inboard”. We went after him last year with several hunters but never got him.
We saw lots of bucks but not Inboard. My buddy and his hunter were able to get the 5pt though and that was good.

The grandfather also wanted to take a Blackbuck on this hunt. So, Saturday evening, I stayed with the grandson in the one blind I’d ever seen Inboard and the grandfather went with my buddy to the blind I usually saw the Blackbuck every evening.
Ironically, the blackbuck showed up at MY blind!! He stayed there for about an hour and finally started heading towards the other hunter as the sun set.
15 minutes before dark, Inboard finally showed up!! He was cautious and stayed in the outskirts. But, finally presented a shot for us.

Finally, right at dark, the blackbuck showed up at the other blind and the grandfather was able to take him as well.

Busy but successful day!
The grandson used my custom 16” .308 Win and 168gr ELD-Match.
The grandfather used my buddies 18” Bergara in .308 Win and 168gr A-Max.
