So the instructions say to soak it in warm water for 20 minutes to break the bond.

“ The only way to break a proper Rocksett bond is to soak the part in hot water for 20 minutes or more and then forcibly remove the components.

I'm calling BS on that. It takes waaay longer than 20 minutes, to the point that I don't like having someone's muzzle submersed that long. And alot of force is still required even after all of that.

Why in the world would someone use that? Let's be honest, what part on a gun that goes together with threads, is not eventually taken off, swapped out, or replaced?

Only thing I've ever even THOUGHT about using RockSet on was when I got my first QD silencer and the manufacturer suggests using it to attach the muzzle devices.
Did a little reading up on it and decided "HARD PASS"

Maybe you're supposed to get relaxed in a hot bath before attempting the stressful job?

Why yes, yes it does

doing everything slow and by the book for set up
she should be ready for photos tomorrow with her temporary scope.
Bergara B-14 HMR in .308 Winchester
EGW 20 MOA Base
Vortex Pro Series Rings
Vortex Diamondback 6-24x50 FFP MOA Reticle (for now)

I was going to support the local shop, but over two weeks they raised the price by $100.00. BPS was 100 bucks cheaper plus give a 5% Mil Discount

This is my favorite version. It’s a paste with easy applicator. Much easier to apply and less messy.

I used to have some of that, but it didn't make the move.
Couldn't find any so had to use the regular stuff.
Put a bit on a small paper plate and used a toothpick for an applicator
Need to find some if the gel for future use

Just put the paste in my Prime cart. I have blue stains on every work surface because the liquid stuff is a PIA to work with. Thanks.

Paste? Now that IS interesting.

With all the red dots coming to me for mounting the last couple years, I've just been grabbing the little mini tubes that come with most mounting hardware packs and getting multiple jobs out of one - thereby building up a stash. Because of this, I've not had to deal with the inevitable clogged nozzles of the big bottles of blue and red liquid lately. Clog-less paste has some appeal.
