I am thinking real hard on this one, my 65 Grendel barrel has not been drilled so would make the perfect one to use.

Where did you get this barrel? Is your's for sale? This is going to be a very interesting gun. My nephew posted his next to his Ruger. His is a different style/manufacturer and a little longer than what I have planned but even with a can it's shorter than the Ruger.

I have had this barrel for awhile, think I got it from bear creek.
Not for sale, will be looking at getting the action maybe as soon as next week.

Turned out that the barrel I have is not in 6.5 Grendel and at this moment I am not sure what it is.
I ended up buying one from Midway as I had already bought 5 boxes of ammo. New barrel is an AR-STONER Barrel AR-15 6.5 Grendel Heavy Barrel Contour 1:8 Twist 20" 4150 Black Nitride, as of right now I am still waiting on a couple parts but barrel is on the action.
When I determine what the first barrel is I will most likely build another one.
I am still not sure where I bought the barrel, hope I can eventually find the paper work on it.

I'm surprised the barrel isn't marked

It was marked with a felt pin and was partially worn off when it was sent. You could read 6.5 but now that is even gone, I was thinking there was a G next to it but guess not.

The project has begun. Currently it weighs 3 lb 14 oz. The barrel should weigh 2 lb and 10 oz for the scope and rings. Total weight should be less than 6.5 lbs. I'm researching the barrel and scope as I type . It will have an eighteen inch barrel with an OAL of 26 3/4 inches chambered in 6 ARC. I will eventually change the barrel nut and hand guard to an ultra light version and if I'd like to lose half a pound. I could looses another 3 oz if I had a new butt plate fabricated from composite or aluminium.

This isnt a bad idea. Loaded with leverevolution will make it a 200 yd rifle.

As far as I can see on a quick Joogle is that 6.5 Grendel is 100fps slower than a 6.5x55. The 6.5x55 (not 6.5 Skan or SE, same dress, different animal) is not by any means a 150 yd deer cartridge and dropping 100fps wont change the way the bullet works at 250 on a deer.

I had a 94 Win and it was handy but, my eyes have changed with age. My go to rifle is a 99 Savage in 308 with a 2x7 Leupold but, it's not handy with a walking stick. You either carry it with both hands or have your second hand on the sling. I have two steel knees and my balance isn't good. This bullpup (26 inches) will sit in my chest. The weight is behind the grip so it's easy to carry with one hand and it rides on my hip. It is also easy to handle in a small deer blind.
