Well, at least only the GRIPS look like they were dipped in acid.
Early Rands are interesting. I was able to pick up an unmolested one some years back. The inside of the slide around the barrel locking lugs had the finish ground off to correct the fitting, and it's my understanding that sort of thing was normal at the time. "Get it out the door; get it in the war; half of them are like to get U-boated anyway."
Yep, once the testing was done production was way more interested in filling crates to get them out the door. I think that was endemic across all manufacturers at the time.

Ok
Shooter to the line we need to see what it will do!
She’s not at the top of the line in rotation. I think I have about 6 revolvers that I have to make sure they go bang because I haven’t even fired them

See now a retired guy would have time for all of them

Weeeeeeeeellllllllll, I cut out early today and I managed to shoot 3 of my guns today AND my SIL’s new .44 Mag 7.5” Ruger Super Blackhawk. I also finshedbmy first week and I LOVED being back. Came up with a new game plan that is going shake my region up a bit AND I might go live in Mexico City for a month courtesy of my company. I call that a good week all around…

Nice!!!!! We shot a few hundred rounds of .357 Mag and even some 9mm for giggles. The new Ruger Redhawk 9 shot .357 feels like you’re shooting a .22 with full house 158 gr JHP. Shot some .45 Colt SA guns to warm up but after finishing up 150 rounds of full power 240gr JHP .44 mag ammo through two Rugers we were pretty much done. My hand is a little sore for sure, but smashing cinder blocks out on BLM land was a hoot though

Really like the combo, you are very good at bringing the right gun and holster together.
Wife told me that we need to go fishing more often this year and I plane on shooting a lot more so looks like I will have very little free time for my part time job.

One of the first things I learned after I got my Redhawk in .44 mag was no one is safe hiding behind a cinder block wall.

The first time we’ve tried doing that. Damn!!! I always knew the .44 hits hard but that was fun to do. We also brought a bunch of 1 gallon water jugs and had a blast vaporizing them with both the 357 and the 44s.

Isn't it some sort of a cardinal sin to waste water in the desert

So I hear… but this was for science
All jokes aside, if I know I’m headed off road in the dessert I’ll have a Gallon Yeti filled with water in the truck. Freaking people die around here just a few miles off a major road because of lack of water

She looks great.
When I was 15 and mowing lawns for money, one of my clients was a WW I Lieutenant and he actually sold me his original 1911, the holster and two original magazines for 25 bucks! But he'd ruined the collector's value by scrubbing off the "Property of the US Government..."

Oh Lord no!!! It was a gift from the wife and it’s the only thing that keeps my water cold when I’m out in 110°+ for a whole day!
