You were the kid gripping the guinea pig too tight in school.
I don't recall ever gripping my guinea pig in school, and how I hold my guinea pig need not be your concern. Me thinks it may be you that has over handled yours. It is cleary demonstrated by the blindness your mother warned you about from playing with your guinea pig.
