And they'll lock it up most of the time, just like wolf steel cased will lock up a 1817

Next time I'm around I'll have to break out my Caleb-tuned 625 and we can get all the extended family together.
Let's coordinate this so I can bring my Indiana Jones 1917 out to play.

cool. Being certified 20:1, Bigslug suggested 1300-1400 fps max.
I just got my new (to me) 10" Contender bbl. I haven't loaded a single one of those bullets yet

I love my .45ACP wheelguns. And I'm on the opposite From Bigslug- I'd rather do moonclips than Autorim rounds. AAMOF, I think I have half of my first and only box of .45Autorim still around somewhere. The whole allure of the .45ACP revolver is having "packetized" ammo.
BEHOLD! Packetized .45 ammo!

Hmmm I wonder if I cut down a few 308’s make a “bullet” shape with case body for shot, and find a powder for a compressed load….. or just buy a few factory snake shot rounds
Factory snake shot is gonna solve your problem much more quickly, but I did get to thinking:
You could possibly cut off a .308 or .30-06 (I would use the lightest weight, thinnest walled body and go with that), and then form the front of the case in a .41 Magnum die. THEN you could cut a .410 shotgun wad down to fit your new "neck", which would give your pellets a cup to keep them together through the cylinder gap. A .41 roll crimp die to keep a cardboard keeper wad in place would complete the package.
Then again, you'd probably need some kind of cannelure on the neck to keep the wad from working backwards. Factory snake shot looking pretty good here.

Can’t see the link for some reason.
Anyway, I’ve made them buy adding powder, cardboard disc cut from a cereal box, shot, another disc, finished with Elmer’s glue.

Reader's Digest condensed version
Run a 308 case into a 40s&w to make the shoulder (use 1911 bbl or 45acp case gauge to get correct headspace)
Cut to 1.2"
Prime, charge and push an "over powder card" in
fill remainder with some of the #12 shot you have left in that amber "pill bottle"
Secure either an overshot card, or a 35 cal GC
Use a 45 ACP RN seating stem to roll the mouth in enough so it'll fit in a mag and feed

OR, someone with skillz, could start with a 7/8x14 grade 5 bolt and turn it into a case forming die on a lathe, and then make 2, and "lose" one of them in my reloading room

You being at the wheel compensates for everything else. Or I can just wait until you relocate, but it’ll cause me to be disowned by my kids…

So, I found a proper holster for the 45, it’s a Safariland! Found it on my secret leather store, eBay. $68 buck to the door! Sa-wheat! Man, safariland doesn’t even mod leather anymore! Sad, just sad.

Safariland has always been one of my favorite carry leather makers for field use. Their gear is made to WORK!!! That why so many LEOs picked it for duty and off-duty use beck when leather Wass the norm. Good score!
Now I can't wait to see your bear/moose SD load for the .45acp

Thanks man! I’m thinking a 230 gr truncated cone lead flat point going about 850fps
