We have a north facing house, so no real good windows for my wife's plants. She got some stands to use in front of the french doors. Kind of a pain to move 4-5 plant stands every time you want to open the door.
So I made a sliding plant stand with barn door hardware. It goes far enough to the left that you can complete open the door if needed. Finished it today since I'm a bit sore to lug 2x8'
You’re pretty damn handy.
Side note, the benefits of a failing marriage are you don’t have to build poop like that.

It was actually my idea. Hated moving all of those stands every time I wanted to open up the house.

We made a trip out to Amish country (tourist Amish country. We live in real Amish country) last month to find some fancy wood for the shelves. Now I can't remember what it was called. It was from a dead tree. That is what gives it the black lines.

I got an amazing one from a dude in a dress.
Side note, if you weee to sell those getting the fittings at a real supply house instead of fudge me in the butt big box stores
you could save a ton.

I got all of it off Amazon. The pipe is painted black. 6 pack was cheaper than 2 real black pipe nipples at Lowes

It's called "spalted" wood or "spalting". The black is actually caused by fungal colonization

The black on the pipe is called paint. It’s caused by an 11 year old in China hosing it down with a paint mixed with their tears and sweat.

I cannot let my wife see that plant sliding thingie. I would be building those in front of all the windows.
My “shop” now has lights, electrical, and AC!

Did half the battens yesterday. Woke up to some nice leg cramps from going up/down/up/down the ladder. Put the rest of the plates on the beams today. Then went to the Cheesecake Factory in Pittsburgh for middle stepsons birthday. He doesn't really like the food as much as the Chocolate Tower Truffle Cake.....
Tried to rent a trailer this morning to go get my 20' roof panels. He said $150. How? It's $60 a day and Sunday is free. He said since he isn't open Monday it's two days and something extra. I said forget it. Now instead of making $60, he will make $0 ........ good business plan.

They may only be 40#, but getting a 20'x38'' panel up 8' is harder than I thought it would be. Definitely going to make an appointment tomorrow to get my shoulders shot up with some drugs.....

You guys are doing really nice jobs !
I am still working on mine ........ not as fast as I would like but it's moving along .
I spend a lot of time organizing & working on things in the shop .
With the days getting shorter I had to get some lights up to see to work .
I hope to have the first floor of shop 3 framed by winter .Soon I will be splitting fire wood so things on the shop will slow down a bit .
