Look at the original Sharps breechloading design. Closing the breech with the lever cuts the back of the paper cartridge and It’s an elegant and simple design. I’ll bet you could make that action in one weekend…. 😈
Saw an Italian made version of one of those recently at an LGS. Price was almost good enough to consider experimenting with.

I do like that one. Is that an 1860 model because it definitely looks good, unlike the 1860 aardvark that I posted a pic of.

And just a wife complaint and I'm sure someone here with a 3d printer will relate to this. I spent a good amount of time setting the Z height of my 3d printer table the other night to print my percussion caps, get to looking for the laptop today and of ALL the places the wife could set the laptop, she sets it on my 3d printer table.
To the moon Alice!!!

I did say almost good enough. It was still enough to make you wonder if it's use would warrant the expense.

Second try at powder coat. Much better. Sure standing an oven on end and drilling a hole through the side may be sketchy, but no one died.

There’s a safety violation.

Sketchy home built vertical oven coming this weekend. Or at least the parts will arrive.

Sir, I'm fairly certain that you just voided the warranty on your oven.

Buddy of mine uses a propane vertical smoker he got cheap at a garage sale. Works great.

I prefer electric. I can control it pretty much exactly the way I want. And they say not to use propane, due to fire risk. To that I pfffffttttt. Doubt it would happen.
But the main thing is I don’t want to have to putz around with getting the tank filled.
Plug in cord, bake parts.
It will also double as a tempering oven.

I can't even begin to tell you how cute this little thing is and how much I can't wait to take it to the range. It's a .31 caliber.

I wish I would have been able to find the model with the loading lever but I do like the way this one looks without it. Guess I'll have to buy a loading stand.

Ooooooooor, you could make a cylinder and firing pin and convert it to CF in .32 Colt! 😁

Nothing like the taste of melted plastic (which is what powder coating is) mixed in with your lunch! 😬

Ones ready save for scales, four need heat treat, coated scales, and sharpened.
