Wambli Ska wrote: ↑Wed Sep 30, 2026 5:46 am Just putting things in perspective. If we’re shedding a light on one let’s do it fairly on all. Democrats have been blatantly buying votes for decades.

At the end of the day none of it means anything to me. I don’t need the 5k, or free schooling, or government supermarkets. I’ve worked my ass off so I don’t have to vote for handouts for myself and my family and can look at results objectively.
Bravo!

I was a broke butt for a long time and I still don't have much but, what I have, I earned. There were no hand outs. We paid for my wife's education and because she'a a teacher it's hard to say it paid off financially but, she's happy. Obama Care has all but destroyed our medical care system. I saw criminals getting out of jail, geting better medical care than I could have dreamed of. I can't imagine "Medicare for All".

As for reporations, if they want to go on that road they should start with the Native Americans, Hawiians and so many others. Talk about buying a vote.

I pray America doesn't go down the socialist road. It is a path we would never recover from. Thankfully still have a three part system and that should stem the tide. We as a nation can survive an idiot president for four years until the left come to their senses.

As for your Catholic rant, get over it. The bishops are citizens of this counrty and have the right to an opinion just the same as anybody else or group. I disagree with the far left, they disagree with me! That's a good thing. The bishop's case is illogical and has many holes in it but, they are following their most basic principle, preservation of life. That includes the unborn, sick, terminally ill and criminal. I can't say I agree with everything the Catholic Church professes but they do preach the "Right of Consicense". Oh, and by the way, the bishops wrote the breif, not the pope.

As for the historical rant, do you hold the German people accountable for Hitler today? The Japanese for Pearl Harbor? It was the southern states that promoted slavery, should they pay reporations? My great grandfather and and great uncle fought for the north. Every man, country, religion and systen makes it's mistakes. You can't judge history through today's filters. Another modern day mistake! Move on.

So you’re good with handing out 5 grand for your vote? Just clarifying.

I’ll continue to judge the Catholic Church. Any organization who will actively shield rapists, molesters, murderers, and well, anyone who confesses to a crime is worthy of judgement.

I'm not good with the hand out, I'd rather the money be used for the national debt. Like others have said, "They're all doing it".

5k would sure help with my wife's and my hearing aids which aren't covered in Medicare or any other program.

So how is the Catholic Church different from the Democratic Party or DSA?

You're going to have an easier time (and will be making a much shorter list), if you figure out which groups AREN'T trying to bribe you into ramming your morality down everyone else's throat, or trying to bribe you into protecting them from another group doing the same. A large part of my uber-hard 2A stance is maintaining a personal autonomy against extreme versions of either or worse. If you don't fit in with the Fuzzy-Wuzzies, you'd better have the means to keep the Fuzzy-Wuzzies at a distance.

So yeah. . .this current drive to restore something of that autonomy is damned refreshing.

The Democrat party doesn’t have rules (laws, canon law) that result in the loss of their job if they report molesters, murderers, etc. Democrats and Republicans just choose not too, because they don’t want their pals in jail.

Quite frankly I look at the 5k offer as the Republican side saying ok, time to wrestle in the mud for the idiot vote (the majority of the country at this point) just like the other side does, and I'm Ok with that. Trying to maintain the moral high ground at this stage of the game is stupid.

As Zee once said, If you don't cheat you don't want to win bad enough. So gloves off, pay off the folks that need it and give me a 60,000 S&P.

But looking at this *objectively, saying “we will give you 5 grand if we win” is BLATANTLY buying votes.

Same coin, (just not a penny, which I am HAPPY to see discontinued) different side.
Not to you and the rest of the folks that get how this system works. But for the rest of the morons that listen to the CNN Talking Heads (and look at them as actual information and not propaganda) characterizing this as some Republican scummy move, it's worth to point out that their side has been winning ground by perpetration FAR scummier/racist and divisive crap. AT least they didn't;t say they are only making payments to Lationos and Blacks...

Anyway, for years now our elections have looked like a version of Mel Gibson's The Patriot, with Republicans playing the British side. Screw it, lets fight this out guerrilla style, can't wait to see the blood bath from the comfort of my sofa on my TV while I sip Bourbon.

Always makes me laugh when you criticize Trump or any repub and people go but Bided Biden dems Pelosi Obama Clinton but Biden. We know. They are not the ones in power now. They are not the ones fing it up now. Repubs were elected to be different not less terrible. I will never understand how people can live in the false binary world and continue to think if you criticize a repub that you somehow like a dem or visa versa. But I am in the minority. 95% live in that false binary. Laugh, cry, who knows what to do.

I'll let you all 95%ers in on something. There is not always a good guy and a bad guy. There is most often just bad guys. I know mind not blown right. It just went right over your head as your inner monolog keeps repeating but Biden.

Ya know America is Great. We have choices. Know why there is so much conflict now? Because not so many years ago, nobody told you which way to think. You chose and loved with your choice. Nobody hated each other for thinking differently, people didn't riot because the other guy won. Honestly, vote for whomever you wish, it is none of my business as with me, not yours.
Today cancel culture will villify and make stuff up against each other. We all need to as CPJ would say, STFU and get back to being good people. If your or my guy loses, try harder next time.

But that can’t happen because the 5%rs feel it’s their job to look down on the 95% of the people that just want to get by another day. This started as a SCOTUS thread and swiftly degrades to orange man bad… just like every other time. SCOTUS was interesting. This turn really not so much. So maybe we can get back to talking about gun stuff?

And by the way my dad always said if you constantly find yourself in the minority of a subject most probably it’s not because you are enlightened, it’s because you don’t get it. Brilliant guy.

I don't really care what people will or won't hold against me and whatever level of "understanding they have. I was blessed with an almost clinical case of apathy towards most. Pretty content with my life in general and my tight ecosystem. Like others here, I state my opinions when I feel like it, and if it causes other's angst  so be it, I can't control other's emotions and the list of folks I pay attention to is pretty small, basically family and just a very few select friends and those know who they are.

I'm not engaging in "arguments" because in the end I really don't care what most think and the level of emotion I assign to these discussions here is just about less than zero.

Sooooo, how about that SCOTUS and 2a?

denial definition
Denial is a refusal to accept or believe something as true, often involving the rejection of uncomfortable facts or realities. It can manifest as a psychological defense mechanism where individuals ignore or exclude distressing thoughts or feelings from their conscious awareness.

Right. Sure they do. They murdered and persecuted anyone who followed their own conscience instead of theirs for about 2,000 years. Monotheists are gonna monotheist.

Another frequently used technique is to change the subject to ad hominum. Make it about the person, not the subject. There are some here who will do that when they have no other answer.

So far….guidance from the EIEIO has been negligible. Only real news is they won’t go after dealers who have transferred cans on a 4473 instead of a form four. Which was a question dealers had, because the only official way to get NFA items off their books was by the tax stamp.(form4)
How they are supposed to get them off the books….no one knows yet.
At several local dealers I can walk in, fill out the 4473 and walk out with a can. One specifically says you must be a GOA member, and if you’re not they have a computer set up where you can join right then and there. Which everyone should anyway. It’s 25$. I’ll gladly help pay them back for what they have spent litigating this case.

Been tempted a couple of times, but I have other “needs” at the moment.

Spoke to one of my local guys and they said when he called to ask their ATF agent told them ATF is going to strip licenses off any dealer that sells without the tax stamp. I said it sounds like a bunch of poop from the "local guy" who's butt hurt about diminishing power. He said yes but he can make my life miserable so I'm not doing anything until everything is resolved. In NV you still need the Fed paperwork per state law, we'll see if that will change. But he said approvals nowadays are basically 24-48 hours. I still will wait until the market floods with cans from the smaller guys jumping into the game. Plenty of inventory locally, one some "sales". I need to get to AZ to see what's going on down there. They have NO state requirement and now that it's legal for me to buy handguns there I need to go visit my son and "shop".

It’s 100% small weiner syndrome, as everything I’ve seen said the higher ups have told the field guys to not say ANYTHING.
I applaud those who ARE selling them, and 100% understand and support those who are NOT. Pretty easy to sink a business if the regulators say you’re in violation. Doesn’t matter if you are, the process is the punishment.
