Just showing them, the bolt seems smoother and it seems to point better. Stock seems shorter, had some complain about it. Limited calibers til next quarter.

Got the .204 Predator version. Whoever came up with this crap required to disassemble / reassemble the stock needs a kick in the nuts. After adjusting trigger it's a bit over 3 lbs. Lighter spring on the way.

It’s the AICS mag. Same same for a Savage Axis with a AICS MAG. You have to remove the magazine latch to get to the bolt.

If you’re careful and have a ball tip hex key, you can do it without removal. But I don’t recommend that.

If you want, you can remove the trigger safety dingus. I don’t like lawyer features.

Yeah, I tried the ball tip hex key approach but felt like I was approaching doing something stupid and stripping it.

Ran some factory Hornady through it today. Can't say I'm liking the stock that much, at least for shooting from a rest. The bolt is pretty smooth cycling unloaded but very firm after firing a round (factory ammo).

32 grain and 24 grain Hornady performed equally well and I wasn't letting the barrel cool much.
The 24 grains were scooting along.

Groups of less than half an inch with factory ammo….yeah it’s ok, I guess.

So, cleaning from the muzzle it is. Because I’m smart enough too not foul up the muzzle.

I didn’t really care for the factory stock off the bench either.
But I also don’t care for most cheap-ass plastic factory stocks.

Zero complaints on quality.
A minor quibble on accessory mounting, I’d like Mlok slots along the side. I’d like to stick a QD sling mount on easily.
But, I have skills and tools.
The butt sits decently in a rear bag, it IS better with a bag rider. Which can be easily added because there is an Mlok slot for that purpose. I designed and 3D printed one because I wasn’t paying $75 for one because I didn’t didn’t thousands on tools and such to buy something. ON THE BENCH I prefer the bag rider. In field positions not so much. It’s a bit snaggy and the field bag I have (I should post that) it’s just doesn’t jive. But that’s not a design flaw or quality issue, that’s an issue of bench guns and field guns being different.

You will most likely need to go at the stock with a dremel to make the gen 2 action fit. I emailed them and they are aware and making revisions. The trigger hinge/linkage dingus pokes out a bit differently on the G2. They suggested filing the dingus, I had already dremeled the stock. Besides, grind the cheaper part is the smart gunsmiths mantra. (

Thats a long winded way of saying buy it. They a fair amount cheaper than some other chassis, but the other ones just offer a lot of adjustment that I’m not sure 95% of the people who buy them need. It’s certainly not cheaper because the quality isn’t there.

Pics of my bag, and the bag rider. It’s made to go either way, so it can be flat bottomed or have some dangle angle what for adjusting elevation by sliding the bag to and fro.

And it’s not like you’d need it, but MDT support is awesome. They emailed me the next morning when I asked about the stock not fitting. And, I had asked to BUY a mag release a couple years ago for a chassis I’ve been too lazy to build. He said they don’t sell them.
But that he would send me one. For free-fifty.

Bag riders are great for rising bags on the bench and grabbing from field positions. Different method of utilization.

Loaded up some .204 Ruger after replacing trigger spring. Even with the stock that isn't so great and a scope I really don't like - probably trying a warranty claim - it might be a shooter!

Got the chassis today. Cleaning with a rod, while a bit tight, is doable. Might be a different profile for the smaller .204 chambering.

I’m able to clean my Howa 1500 mini in 6ARC from the chamber end as well. It’s snug, but works fine.
