Lightweight shooting bench
Lightweight shooting bench
This bench has shown up at our range. Not sure if one of the members built it and left it or what as it is a one off from others at the range. It's light and could be easily loaded into a truck by one man.
Looking at it, you would think it isn't stable with the single leg on one end but I pushed on it and laid on it some and it was surprisingly stable. Besides being set up for wrong side shooters it's pretty cool.

Maybe you should consider shooting the right way

Guy who built that is talented……

Looks good.
Talent hits a target no one else can hit; Genius hits a target no one else can see.
Re: Lightweight shooting bench
That is NICE.
It was built by a welder/fabricator, 98% chance it was a “government job” aka company sponsored, aka materials stolen from work.
I just have a feeling, that’s why.
But damn. Nice work and a REALLY smart design. Wide stable feet out front, one leg in the back. Three legs = no rocking.

Now if the top were reversible it would be usable

Yeah, the bar stock for feet shows a cool level of detail.
Any guess at the weight?

I would say 30-50 lbs maybe? Didn't seem heavy at all when I was poking / prodding / coveting.

Re: Lightweight shooting bench
Just wondering here.... would 3 legs make it stable, but more accommodating of an uneven surface that 4 legs?
Looks really nice.

I definitely agree with CPJ. Maybe not stolen, but using a lot of scrap. I think that is indicated by the sheer amount of welds. Good welder.CPJ 2.0 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 01, 2024 11:37 pm That is NICE.

Yeah, it's "aluminium."

I did this one for the rear of my shooting bench.
