Other observations on the day

Today we also shot both of my Ruger Bearcats. I bought both used. They both have unbelievably light triggers.

We also shot my Single Six convertible. It was quite accurate with both cylinders. We were also surprised by the report of the WMR. It was quite loud.

I lucked up on both of mine.

Both were trade ins at 2 different shops.

One had been disassembled and the LGS sent it back to Ruger. They did the transfer bar conversion and replaced some parts. I’m not not happy with this gun after yesterday. The trigger is sooo light I think it’s causing light firing pin strikes. It never shot every round the first time around. It might do 2 then a FTF on every other one. If we kept pulling the trigger it would eventually fire them all. Cases did look like a light strike. This gun was $400.

I walked in another LGS last June and found the 2nd one for $275. It has a brass trigger guard and is an old model also. It shot fine yesterday. It has a light trigger too.

I admit I was awfully lucky to find these 2. I’ve been looking for years. I bought them with the intention of giving them to my grandkids when they get old enough.

Here’s a picture. 2nd & 3rd from the top are the Bearcats. The 4th is the Single Six Convertible. Bottom is my 3 Screw Super Single Six. Top is a Savage single shot .22. I forget the model #.

I like the brass guard 👍, I got my Single-Six convertible barely used on a trade in for $275 back in the early 2000’s

Just a thought, I've put Wolfe springs in a number of Rugers I've owned and my PA 63. You can get a package of springs to set the trigger weight to your liking. Best part is they don't cost a lot, under $20 IIRC.

I’m reasonably mechanically inclined. However, for some reason the thought of opening up a gun does not appeal to me
