Hey guys. I got a Beretta A300 earlier this year and finally got a chance to take it out for some sporting clays this morning with a buddy. After about 10 or 12 shots, it would jam about every 3 rounds, to the point that I had to disassemble it and remove the barrel to clear the empty and cycle the bolt.

I cleaned and lubed it before taking it out, and was shooting Winchester 7-1/2 Extra Target loads. I’m going to do some research to see if this is a known problem, or maybe I just got a Friday afternoon gun, but I thought I’d post here and see if you guys have any thoughts.

Look up Beretta A-300 problems, it seems your not the only one with a jamming issue.

Try different ammo. Specifically, try something hotter and/or with a heavier shot charge.

A potential problem with semi auto shotguns isn't a problem with the shotgun, but rather the HUGE variety of combinations of powder, shot weight, and wad filler which can utilize that 2.75" space to make a powder puff load, or a shoulder dislocator. Pretty hard to engineer an autoloader to run across that whole spectrum.

Also check to see if you have brass-plated steel case heads as opposed to actual brass. They don't always return as close to pre-fired dimension as brass, and I've seen them with sharp edges around the front of the head. The combination of the two can result in hard extraction - pump or autoloader.

And finally have a look at the ejector and the spring tension to make sure it isn’t pulling past the shell rim.
