Buddy came to visit from NC and wife approved a boys weekend. Had to give him a taste of living in the old west.

We made it to a small town where they were holding their annual Gold claim auctions, no-shlt real gold claims, annual parade and saloons were the order of the day.

Spent the night at a Brothel converted to a nice B&B and then last night we no-tent camped after 4 wheeling about 20 miles cross desert into the mountains.

Should have moved “out west” decades ago. Finally feel at home back in America.

Good times with a good buddy, guns, beer, whiskey, meat on sharp sticks over flames and guns…

Life is good when you leave the neighborhood...

Pretty darn tasty especially considering its price and availability. My buddy has an enviable whiskey collection so when he picked this one I had to pay attention and he was right.

Yes!!! You and Sako need to work your way down here. It’s hot in the valley but low 50s in the mountains where we camped.

Last summer I drove across NV north to south along Hwy 95 Las Vegas to Reno. I was under time pressure and wished I could have stopped more often and soaked up more of the culture.

That block building is the Goldfield NV Courthouse
we have tread on the same path ..
Goldfield may not have a gas station or grocery store but I pretty sure they have at least 3 used gun stores

That's basically my main job now. I have a LOT of years to make up for. Should have moved here when I was in my 20's...

Yes it is! And yes they do have a few smaller gun stores, unfortunately all of them were closed, the owners all posted signs they were at one of the saloons for the weekend...

So I have to head back soon with the wife, she didn't make it on this road trip.
