Ruger BX-Trigger

Not a bad upgrade for the price. You can find them for $70-$90 bucks online. Easy replacement.

Remove the Receiver.
Push two pins.
Remove old trigger.
Insert new trigger.
Replace pins.
Return receiver.
5min!!

I have three of them now. Two in rifles and one in a pistol.
Highly recommend for a hunting platform.

Why do I say this?
Several reasons.
It’s cheaper by far.
I’ve NEVER seen the results you’re getting. Maybe they improved them from when they first came out.
Most importantly, Ruger (and I’m a Ruger fan) can go fudge themselves for charging that much money for something that SHOULD HAVE CAME FROM THE FACTORY.
I will 100% die on this hill.

The factory hammer and trigger can be taken down surprisingly well with some careful stoning and polishing and then cutting a few coils off the hammer spring. I normally just replace the spring because I have Wolff spring kits out the wazoo but it's something for the average person to keep in mind.

I also haven't seen that kind of improvement. Definitely better but not below 2 lb.

Zee, we have the same charger! I put the Bx trigger in mine too. I don’t have a scale but it is a light crisp trigger!

I went the Volquartzsen (or maybe Power Customs, I don't remember) route many years before this trigger was on the market, thought these days I I might go with one of these.
I can't help but echo CPJ's sentiment, however, that they should come from the factory with a good trigger already.

Just tested my Charger with the BX trigger. 2 lb 9 oz. I did buy the BX trigger when they first came out so they are probably better now.
Also test another 10/22 that I just can't remember what kind of upgrade it has. Not a BX. 1 lb 10 oz.
Finally, tested a factory Target model 10/22 and it's 4 lb 1 oz. Target my a$$. I need to upgrade that trigger, will consider some options.

I thought all the new guns came with the BX trigger. I guess I was wrong. The last 10/22 I bought does have the BX trigger. I think it was one of Davidson "Exclusives"? I'm going to have to double check. I'll admit I have no recollection of firing that gun since I bought it.

I have discussed it here before, it is a jam o matic. I have tried many different kinds of ammo, cleaned the mag, tightened the mag spring, bought a different mag, bought another mag and then put it away where it sits. I know everybody likes them but I can't say I do. I bought a M&P 22 that has been trouble free.

Todays outing. The group was shot the my Charger with the BX trigger shooting bulk Federal auto match ammo. 10 rounds 50 yards. I’m using a weaver 2-6 handgun scope on it….
I like the BX
Point of aim was the bottom of the vertical red line.

That Fed auto match ammo is great stuff for the price. Not always the most accurate but in my experience never poor in the accuracy department in a lot of different guns I've tried it in.

It was one of the most, if not THE most accurate in an old 10-22 barrel I had. Youd have to spend a LOT more money per round to get better results, and that was tiny improvements.
Then, it wouldnt shoot worth poop in other rifles I had. Such is .22 ammo.

Yes CPJ I am slow, part of that is I am old. I contacted Ruger and, IIRC, if I sent them $20 they would look at it. That is not the service I was expecting. I wouldn't try to stop anyone from buying a ruger but it is the last one I will buy. I try to refrain from bashing them online but sometimes I can't stop myself. I am glad yours works well.
