Remington Trigger Announcement- Timney Trigger

Well, it’s a Timney. But, the base model rifles will not have annd adjustable trigger. The higher model rifles will have the Elite Hunter Trigger, which to me is the “base model” Timney.

I've been seeing the new Impact trigger sold all over the place. I was wondering what the purpose of selling a trigger that basically duplicates the factory specs is. Now I understand...

I suppose bringing back the Model 30 instead of slapping the most popular Band Aid on the 700 is just too much to hope for.

I await with baited breath. Supposedly they were streamlining their catalogue and focusing on quality over quantity, but I notice a lot of variants available on their site right now. We'll see. I did notice their 7mm RM offerings now have a 1:8 twist.

With the price they will likely demand, one is a long way into a custom gun. IMO they'll have to keep most of their offerings sub $1000, and in many cases sub $700, to be competitive, and it still benefits over a budget gun like a Ruger American or similar because it's still a Remington 700, with the massive aftermarket associated with it. The Alpha 1 is a different story, and meant to compete in a different class of rifle. If I hadn't already build up my 700 ADL 7mm RM into what I want in a mountain gun, I'd be holding off to see an Alpha 1 in the flesh.

Very true. Aftermarket support is dominated by the 700. Because Howa is 10 times the rifle a 700 is, at (was) far less money.

They mostly did but then they did the bottom of their receiver flat which is basically an improvement. They also over built the receivers so you can actually remove large chunks of metal (Nosler) to lighten the gun and still maintain the overall strength.CPJ 2.0 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 04, 2023 6:21 pmYep. I see it as a way to get out from under the lawsuit(s) the other trigger generated while giving themselves the "We use Timney Triggers" over other 700 clones, even if it IS a "stock" grade trigger

After the bankruptcy I’m sure if their lawyers are worth a nickel the lawsuits are in their rear view mirror. But smart of them to pass any potential future liability to another company that specializes in triggers. One less component to worry about while building up the credibility on the new models.
