Was a 10 dollar box of bullets....I gave him 20 though.

Junk at the LGS
I asked about it said the guy just wanted it gone and he only paid 10 for it so I could have it for that.
The 38-44 boxes are hard to find so that's what caught my eye.
With the 300 weatherby in there why not.

The good stuff was in the metal box though some old 45-70

Lots of other odd stuff too but....

That would have cost way more elsewhere, if you could find it. Well done. You have a gem of a LGS

That’s a cool find, not to mention a screaming good deal. There are ZERO old school gunshots around here. Maybe I should take the plunge and just open one…

56 Spencer rimfire perhaps! You do find the coolest stuff. The 45-70 look like old ballon head cases.

Cousins kid just picked up a Weatherby 307 in .300 Wthby, been keeping an eye out for ammo for him, no deals like you find, yet, very cool stuff. Do you have anything chambered in 38-44?

The RF is an original .44 Henry round. The 45-70 is a first generation solid head case. They are both REALLY COOL finds!!!

As I mentioned before those .44 Henry rimfire rounds are quite rare and desirable to collectors.

That's some cool stuff, great find. Saw an original .44 Henry a few years ago, I believe the asking price was $35,000!

A bit rich for one round....😆

Was looking at the 45-70 and at least one says black powder

Wasn’t there a shotgun made for a country that had a 3 prong firing pin? That way it could not use regular shotgun ammo? It’s amm had a ring around the primer like that as well- that way the Govt could use any ammo, and the people could only use the stuff they were allowed to have that had the ring around the primer.

Trying to remember what it was called

I seem to recall a ring like that being used to allow spitzers in a tube mag, to keep the bullet from resting on the primer in front of it
