Lee bench priming tool

I have been using a Lee hand priming tool for a number of years. Using it has really become a chore. I recently bought a Lee bench priming tool. Like everything Lee, this tool is well thought out and priced right. $38 at Midway

Looks handy. Ive never use one of those. I have a couple RCBS hand primers one small one set up for large. The only reason I have two is I was given one by a guy that hated them….. they work great if they are set up correctly. Otherwise not so much….. I do like the bench mount, one day I won’t want to squeeze them in….

I had a Lee priming tool that was attached to the top of my press. It worked very well for years and I may still have it.

Yep, that's my setup too. When I get a real reloading bench going I'll do something bench mounted like the Lee above. $38 is a good deal!

Glad to know you like it. I have been considering one for a while. I currently use the Lee hand prime tool but as I get older I find a few hundred with the hand prime does a number on my thumb and aggravates my tremor.

That looks handy. I've used the Lee hand primer, and prime on the Lee Progressive. Never played with one of those.

Looks like a possible winner. How smooth/reliable is the primer feed? I use a fair amount of Lee stuff without issue, but suffer a fair amount of PTSD from dealing (or rather giving up and NOT dealing) with the primer system on their old Pro 1000 press.

The RCBS bench tool is a really good one if you're looking for something that's easier on the hands. It feeds the primers directly from the pickup tube so there's no bunching up in trays or failing to "ride the slide", and it has a little storage cavity so that the large and small primer rods are both constantly stored on the press. About the only "hassle" is that without additional primers bearing down on it, the last primer in the tube can sometimes jump out, but that's a small price to pay for what's otherwise a very trouble-free system.

The Lee is like night and day compared to the hand priming tool. Very smooth and positive. It comes with a slip in cartridge for large and small primers.

I can't really speak to the RCBS tool except that you can buy 3 of the Lee tools for the price of one RCBS. I guess that speaks to how cheap I am. I was really impressed with the Lee tool.
