Sorry to hear that, losing one is bad enough, we have one in her teens on the decline too.

So sorry for your loss. The pain of the loss fades but the loving memories of the joy they brought you will last forever.

Sorry to hear. I was not much of a cat person until Charlie came to us one night. Dropped off at our door at about 5 weeks old and is now 10 years.

My condolences. It's hard when you lose a great pet. The decision is hard but made in love.

Very sorry to hear it. Losing your four-legged friends sucks. They're often better people than people.
But if you can manage to have them for 17 years, keep doing what you're doing. My folks had a trio of kittens found living under a dumpster that went 19 to almost 21, but apart from that, 17 for cats seems to be about like the 90's is for humans - not unusual to get there; pretty exceptional to get past. If they can get there with constantly full bellies and scratched ears, ya done good.

Sorry, bud. That sucks. Wounded heart..
I like cats. They have an attitude about them I appreciate.
I’ve had dogs, cats, horses, cattle and even ferrets. They all touch you in their own way. We have to know going into it they’ll leave us at some time. Yet, we take them anyway… It hurts. But we sign up for it. And doing so, agree to do the best for them. You did right, bud.

My first cat was solid black. My dad was a trucker at the time. As I recall the story, He was at a truck stop somewhere and it was snowing. He heard noises coming from a trash can in the parking lot. Dug two kittens out of the snow in the trash can. Both solid black. One male, one female. He put them both in the truck and brought them home. The female became my cat. I had a gerbil at the time. Me, the cat and the gerbil slept together. She’d curl up around my head every night. The male cat kept riding in the truck with my dad. His name was Gearjammer. He was a half wild bastard. Got along with my dad just fine..

It was my wife's cats time today. We think she made it to 20 years old. Didn't know when she was born exactly.
My stepson took her to the vet this morning. She had a bit of an improvement the last couple months. Was eating pretty good but still kept losing weight. In one day she went from her normal cantankerous self to hurting. Could see it in her eyes. She was the Queen around here.

That's tough Joe.
Those fur babies sure know how to wrap themselves around your heart.
Here's something I saw online not too long ago that I think is fitting...
You might not have gotten to spend your entire life being loved by your cat,
however, it got to spend its entire life being loved by you (and your wife)
I hope y'all can take some comfort from that.
You both have my condolences

I already have two fans a foot from my head covering up the tinnitus. I don't hear anything.
