My wife's school took a really good training class like that over the summer. Being a private school, they have two armed staff members (one retired police, one a younger veteran who looks very 'hard charging' that the kids call 'Batman') and use contracted private security (off duty officers for the most part) for larger events.
I was pretty impressed with their preparations for active shooter, fire, emergencies, etc... except for one thing. The admin won't let teachers carry.
But then again, one of her students last year had their own security detail, as it was the granddaughter of some higher up muckity-muck at a large media corp. When they went on field trips, they actually had the blacked out suburban follow the bus, and a dude in a suit, ear piece, sunglasses and combat boots go through the aquarium with them.
along with some local PD. Now, I like our cops, deputies, and troopers in our area in general these days, but I can’t see waiting 3 minutes for several of them to arrive and save the day, gotta arm some staff
