Something I'd Forgotten

Someone reminded me today of something that happened back in the late 80s in Germany that I'd completely forgotten.
The Secretary of the Air Force was visiting our Air Station, and our agency was providing security for his visit.
That evening he wanted to go for a walk and told our commander he didn't want a security detail, but said that he'd allow one man to go with him.
My commander picked me.
I'd completely forgotten about that...
