Prayer Request

I have oral cancer and evidently I've had it for a while. I have two scans this week and a doctors appointment Friday. They will operate Monday to remove part of my tongue and the lymph nodes on the left side of my neck. I'll know more after that. We're hoping it hasn't spread to my chest, if it has I'll be terminal. The ENT doctor I have seems fantastic and I have full confidence in him. It sucks sitting here wondering......

I believe there is power in prayer and so I ask you, my cyber friends, pray for me.

Prayers now and ongoing. Wife just celebrated 10 years and she was officially discharged as cancer free 3+ years ago. She was a stage 3-B of a super aggressive and rare cancer. Lots of new technologies, medicine and even trials out there with more coming out every day. Get educated so you can have intelligent conversations with your oncologist and pray Psalm 91 EVERY DAY!!! I believe it made a big difference with my wife.

Remember, It’s a diagnosis, not a sentence.

Thank you gentlemen, I don't visit many websites, too much drama and bad talk. I truly appreciate the class that this community has.

I'm scared. It has always been my prayer that I be permitted to outlive my wife of 44 years. I have always taken care of her and done my best by her. I know I can handle what I'm about to endure, I have my faith but, my heart aches for her.

This time tomorrow, you'll be waking up, looking up at your team with a tube down your throat.
It's hard to remember at that moment but that's a good thing. 😜

Prayers out for a problem free procedure.

And now for a brief message from "nurse Paul"...

DO NOT be afraid of asking for pain meds. It's a LOT easier to "head off" pain before it gets bad than it is to get rid of it once it has

funny you should say that. I sent a message to my doc requesting pain meds for five days to a week. My wife will manage my meds as she has with my knee and shoulder surgeries. I want off them as soon as I can manage the pain without them.

Hey, I understand. I'm still using pain meds from my open heart surgery on 6/29/23 to help with my diabetic foot wound.
I don't like taking them, however the pain can get bad enough that I feel I either have to take one, or grab a gun to blow the wounded part off, figuring the gunshot can't hurt any worse than I already am.

The "take meds before the pain gets that bad" was beat into my thick skull in nursing school. I learned if I took 5mg when the pain started in my foot, I wouldn't need 10mg to knock down on the pain, if I let it get bad.
Currently, I've had take 2 5mg ones in the last 2 weeks
