I slid into the shop before heading to work to have a “free” cup of coffee…. It’s an expensive cup of joe. There in the incoming trades rack was a CZ452 varmint in 22lr! Damn, just damn. Mine, dibs, hands off effers! Oh that wood! I love these rifles, I have yet to find one that doesn’t shoot really well! Oh well start the layaway machine!

Nice rifle. I'd like to find a nice sporter weight bolt action 22LR. Not so much for me, but I have 2 grandsons. I have a few 22LR's, but the lighter weight rifles are autos. I think bolt actions build better marksman in youngsters.

The 452s I've been around have been some of the most accurate "off the shelf" 22s around

Savage makes a great little bolt gun, they also have a model that comes with a target receiver sight.

What's up with the recoil pad on a 22? Is it there to increase the LOP?

Haven’t a clue, the other CZ’s I have are a hard plastic.
The 457 MTR has a rubber pad too. Must be a varmint variant thing. It is factory.

It's a traction thing to keep it from squirming around on your shoulder. My 28" 452 Ultra Lux has one - anchors nicely. One HELL of a good offhand gun.

My 452 American has the same rubber pad. A stupid accurate gun with just about anything I’ve fed her.
