I made a wildcat.

Post by Justsomedude »

For my glock. Took 350 legend brass and cut it to 22mm in length. It has a 100 grain bullet in it, because it's what I have but I should be able to load 115 and it still load in glock magazines. It "should" have the performance of a 38 Super and I have a G19 barrel on the way. Although I could use a reamer from a different 9mm, I'm just going to do it in the lathe. The rim diameter is slightly smaller by .009 but it still seems to work against the breech and extractor. I'm just doing it because I'm weird and like one off stuff.

I'll be curious how high I can get the velocities before showing pressure signs and sticking brass. My slide is an aftermarket ebay buy (whole upper) and I've almost always needed +P ammo to cycle it because it's heavier than a normal G19 slide so I think it'll be a good candidate for this.

Isn't looking for pressure signs on a hand gun a dangerous undertaking ?

On a blowback, yes. Delayed actions not so much. There's some play room if you're careful and making small adjustments.

Do you have any gel to test a hollow point bullet in? I’d like to see how much destruction a 115gr hr would do running as fast as you can.

Length doesn’t matter.

I looked into buying some of that when I was building my airguns and that stuff isn't exactly cheap just to **** around with. I'll likely just go by velocity, maybe buy a few cheap chuck roasts lol.

Get a gen 3 glock 19 bbl chambered and send it and 2 rounds ammo this way (one to fire remotely and one to put in my gel)
Though from what I just read, you might need a slightly heavier recoil spring. One article on the 356 TSW said the glock bbls came with a 22# spring

The barrel I ordered says it'll fit gen 1-5 but won't sit flush in a gen 5 so I assume that'll work. I'm not too worried about the heavier spring since I have the heavier slide but I get that you'd probably need it if you have a factory weighted slide. I might just take you up on it when I send the 50-60 pinfire.

Sounds like a plan.

Though if you/we keep coming up with things for you to design and me to test, we might get to the point you're going to need to set up a tractor trailer to get it all down here, or just plan on coming down to visit ;)

Just saw this and not sure how I skimmed over it yesterday. Never heard of the PAK but it seem to be a non lethal or less than lethal cartridge.
