Val Kilmer apparently died yesterday. Being April 1st, I waited until I saw confirmation today, before I saying anything.

Thanks for the memories and the entertainment

Tombstone always comes to mind first. The guy was an amazing actor. I almost died of double pneumonia and it's not an easy way to leave here.

Kilmer had a string of great movies- HEAT, Top Secret, Tombstone, The Saint... and others that made lots of money- Top Gun, Batman, etc...

Top Secret was one of my favorite movies as a kid. May have to introduce the kiddo to that one today.

Thunder Heart, The Doors and Real Genius. No one can say the guy didn’t have range as an actor. RIP Ice Man.

Clear skies and tailwinds...

Ice Man was a better pilot than Maverick, full stop.

Ghost and the Darkness is a good movie.

I was supposed to be in Tombstone. As an extra and wrangler to help with horses and gear. I was a teenager at the time. A guy who was in charge of buying gear and stuff for the movie came by the place where I worked at the time. I was in the arena trailing steers, practicing roping. He asked if I wanted to be in a movie. Talked to my mom about it. All I had to do was go get a physical and show up in Arizona. My mom approved. I never got the physical and never went. Of course, I didn’t know until later what the movie was. I do remember him talking about Val starving himself and staying in an RV without air conditioning to make himself look like that.

Who can ever forget Nick Rivers (Val Kilmer) receiving the 'Key to the City' from the Women's East German Olympic Team.

You can't even joke about stuff like this anymore without people peeing on themselves. So in remembrance, I'm making fun of it again

I think Val would approve, screw the snowflakes.

Just watched Tombstone AGAIN last night. Funny the wife and I can recite most of the dialogue nay heart. It was actually her suggestion that we watch it again. Did I mention I love my girl? :-)

“Why Johnny Ringo you look like somebody just walked on your grave”

A favorite line from Tombstone
As an aside anyone wandering S AZ between Tucson and Mexico should stop in Tombstone. Have a cold one in the Crystal Palace
