Picked up a new/old favorite

A lot of factors went into it.
One I had ammo and want to experience shooting a 32 rimfire.
I'm a sucker for octogon to round barrels.
Lastly it was cheap enough to enjoy the ride.
Hope you enjoy seeing an early example.

Wow Nice. I recently cleaned and fixed up one for my Brother in Law in of all things .25 rim fire. I still have a few that you found for me several years ago.

The 25 is harder to find for sure.
The 32 doable.
The 30 rimfire .....almost impossible.
I'm going to look at some UMC rimfire tomorrow he said it's in tins.
I've never seen that but heard it's how real early stuff came.

NICE!!!!! I've been looking for a "shooter" quality (spelled C-H-E-A-P) one of those to have it sleeved and converted to shoot centerfire .32 or .38 S&W gallery loads! Nice grab!!!

We'll see how it goes with this.
Outside metal is remarkable for its age
The wood isn't bad either.
Even the buttplate is fully intact.
The bore was the crunchy part but for what I want which is to experience the cartridge it can shoot good or bad.
Yeah cheap....I'm in for 125
So after I have my fun I may have found your huckleberry

The guy had 3
One the bore was mint but meh just a round barrel and too high a price for what little I wanted to do.
This was the one that hopefully suited my wants.
Had the esthetics I like and if it doesn't shoot great no big loss.

Nice!! Love those little rifles!
I was just checking it out better.
Loads and extracts nicely on an unfired round....good start....lol
These generally can get loose action and wood wise over time.
This one is still rock solid everywhere..
The big ? Mark will be if the bore is still good enough

A few passes through the bore and you might just be surprised
You must have quite a stable of favorites!

April 17th 131 years later.
It's a survivor
Sorry Enzo the gun still shoots better than the ammo and to me it'd be almost sinful to convert
I took 3 longs and 3 shorts with me
The first shot actually went off the first try and hit just to the right of aim.
The rest took a few. Hits.
The last is out of the group probably because I didn't think it was even going to fire.
Pretty cool and hugely different than a 22 rimfire.

I "fully" expected it not to be
I wanted the experience...it was quite a surprise it grouped.
The ammo not working better was the bad surprise.

Had a similar experience with the rounds you gave me years ago. never got one to fire but wasn't sure it was the ammo or the gun.

That's why I took a picture of the fired ones
You can see how many good hits some took before firing.

Geez! that will only cost you 500 buck for your first 100 rounds :shock
Wonder if one our talented machinist friends could whip that up.
