Another 32 revolver but with a twist.

I picked this up from a neighbor for a steal. I've been looking for one for a while because it fits my niche of weird and obscure and I've been wanting to convert ammo for one for a while. It's a 32 rimfire that i can't remember the weird brand of and I'm too lazy to get out of my recliner after doing yard work

.
It locks up solid and the timing is good. The closest brass I have on hand is 32 Long but the diameter is about .013 too big so I made a sizing die that works stupid good (I wasn't expecting good results.) People use 32 Colt brass but it's hard to come by and I use what I have.
The first one I made I offset drilled and reamed the back of the case for a 22 ramset and it worked fine, but you had to index the cartridge in the cylinder. By chance I was at Lowes yesterday for the honeydoo list and walked by the isle with the ramsets. They have 27 caliber

. I grabbed a pack and they work fantastic. You can keep them centered and the rim is capable of being hit by the hammer.
I probably should have grabbed the #3 ramsets and not the #4 because these things are hot. You can tell by the noise alone. Thankfully I've been using .310 roundballs for testing when it's supposed to use .316 heeled bullets. It probably would have blown up otherwise but it's good enough to mess around with.

Yeah, that is an awesome way to get that thing shooting again. Well done!

Thank you both. It's not something that I'll be firing alot so I figure the 5 cases is plenty for now. Plus, they're incredibly easy to reload since they don't even require a powder charge in them. I thought about getting a proper bullet mould for it, but it's not really necessary. I just hate to have a gun and no ammo fo it.

That is pretty neat. I would need more than 5 rounds lol

Water filled milk jugs, for science!

The milk jug idea is doable. I'll have to try that the next time I get to the range with my buddy. I also got to thinking that these 27 caliber ramsets would be ideal for someone with a 25 Stevens, although I'm not sure what brass they would use.

If you have an idea of how to make that work with a 25 rimfire rolling block. I have some brass

I've done something similar with a single round that I lathe turned because a customer wanted to fire his old Crackshot just 1 time. That one I ended up using a little .22 caliber acorn blank with a small powder charge and it worked good so I'm sure I could convert your brass to either the 22 or 27 ramsets.

Whip up a bullet shaped D-bit. Make a mold.

And thatโs a nifty idea with the Ramsets.

That's an idea I never considered. I wonder if I need to account for shrinkage of any kind? (Giggitty)
But seriously though.

The softer the alloy, the more it will shrink.
Pure lead shrinks a lot and hard alloys shrink quite a bit less

I'll check tomorrow to see if I could make that work.

I'd be using pure lead, or whatever the hell it is I have that I bought in bulk from ebay. It sounds like I'll have to experiment. That'll be easy enough by just drilling and reaming a hole then filling it with lead and measuring the slug.

Yep.
Drill hole, melt lead, measure. Done.
Iโve made a couple, canโt remember how I sized the mold. The googles will return the knowledge you seek however. Thereโs some guidelines on how much it shrinks.
If all else fails, and in reality good practice, make it bigger than you need and size it down. Pure lead sizes easily.

Does the rimfire firing pin mess up the case when you shoot it, or does it just hit the ramset?

It just hits the ramset. It protrudes just enough to take all the brunt of the hammer. The cases are completely reusable.
