Gettin’ a Can!

Well I was offered a deal I couldn’t refuse on a Aero Precision Lahar 30L suppressor. I couldn’t pass it up. So I guess I’m getting a suppressor for the Remington model 7 300 blackout. The cool thing is the Lahar 30L has removable end caps on both ends, it’s a direct thread can, but rated for 300 win with no barrel length restriction. It should be a ton of fun. I fill out my paperwork on Tuesday.

300 BOs are STUPID FUN with subs and a can.
Set up some steel at 100 and see if you can get 2 rounds in the air at the same time.
Nevermind, I see you're using a bolt gun. I'm willing to bet you can't work the bolt that fast
FYI, IMO the Hornady 190gr Sub-X work nicely and MidwayUSA frequently has "factory seconds" of them for a better price. I've seen no difference in their performance and normally buy 2-300 of the seconds when I find them

If you cast your own, I recommend the Lee .230 grain .330 BO mold. Those and a little trail boss are an awesome combo.

I don’t cast. But Berrys makes a dang nice 220 grain blackout Bullet. Well, 24 hours and counting on my wait for the alphabet boys. We shall see.

Ya know I always thought that this little rifle was off balance. Now that it has the can installed it balances perfectly, who knew! I bet the guys at AAC did!

One piece of safety advice...
Where you're probably used to to "working up" loads, with subsonics, the safe thing to do is work DOWN. It's easy to have a load you want sub to be a little super, and most of the time you're well below "max". So you work down until you get to your target velocity. Trying to "work up" makes it a LOT easier to accidentally start too low and stick a bullet.
Nice looking rifle too
Edited to add: One other one, When trying a new bullet, firing the first round in "LOUD" mode to make sure that that particular bullet is stable in your load/barrel greatly reduces the chance of a baffle strike.

Good tips! I have a bunch of super loads, never really had a reason to shoot subs

I actually have subsonic loads for both my 16 and my 8.5" They're within 15 fps of each other from their respective barrels, and not worth old dog turds switched. I load the pistol's in some black nickeled cases and the rifle's in Norma brass cases, so I can pick up a loaded mag and immediately know which load it is.

Range day!!!
Sako and I hit the range today! Shot my suppressed 300 today! Awesome just awesome! The guy 2 benches down from me said “who brings a pellet gun to a rifle range?” He thought I was shooting an air gun! The guys at the other end of the range didn’t know I was shooting they thought the guy next to me was shooting a “super quiet 22 rifle” the suppressed subs are stupid quiet!!!
My load sub load was right on the ragged edge of super sonic, I’ll be backing off just a shade. Even the supers sounds great. They sound like a quiet 22lr. Suppressors are just giggle machines. Shoot giggle shoot giggle.

My AR was another suprise. It has a 1:7 twist and hates 55 grain bullets but 69 and 75 grain bullets ahoot great!!! But LOUD with the strike industries JComp break. Did I mention loud?
