Got another one of THOSE phone calls from my main enabler to tell me that I needed to call another “friend of ours”…
Just arrived today! Model 66-1 Combat Mag Stainless (pin and recessed) with original box and book. The single action trigger on this gun is ABSOLUTELY pre-lawyers! I’m in

Question: I need to take the grips off again to confirm on the flat-headed, rearmost sideplate screw, but I noticed that the front two seem to have their slots deliberately timed to be horizontal when they bottom out. Wonder if that was on purpose or a happy accident. What's yours into?

The two I can see are vertical.

Yeah... We attended to the transfer of mine yesterday and I was able to give that aspect a more serious survey. It may not quite be the staggering creep-less perfection of my 2nd mod .44 Hand Ejector, but it assuredly DOES NOT suck.
Almost a shame seeing as I hardly ever run them in SA any more. . .almost.

Mine has ZERO creep. I can't feel any movement of the trigger in SA. Like you I hardly ever do SA anymore but damn, it's nice to know that's there and that someone in the old S&W factory knew how to do a proper trigger.
