Yup. Totally random. There was no outside influence whatsoever. I just came up with the idea to build this all on my own…

I am kinda curious to see how long it takes for the chambering to be guessed correctly. By those who don’t already know.

I meant 308 Winchester is not .540 bolt face. This build is what I posted in the original post.

I’ll let the thread run a bit before I confirm or deny any guesses.
If you have a sense on my style over the years, what kind of cartridges and ballistics I tend to gravitate toward, it might make sense.

Barrel and dies should be here early next week. No telling when the action, trigger and chassis will be here. So, we’ve got time.

I’ve pondered other calibers. But, I’ve got a literal lifetime supply of .308 brass.

And just for funsies, a buddy of mine who just developed a really weird 416 wildcat using 338 Norma brass made this (also 416) just to mess around. It'll fit in a regular long action.
