Long Shot Target Camera
Long Shot Target Camera
I was browsing for a better spotting scope and came across these. The one listed as good for 1K yards is cheaper than mediocre spotting scope. Anyone have or use one?

Personally, I'd never heard of them until I opened this thread

I have seen a few downrange cameras like that, and the only think I can think of is "It will catch a bullet at some point"

I have a friend who got one. His works good to 300. It was having problems at 6. As I understand it, the next gen solved the problem. I bought a shotmarker for a retirement gift. https://autotrickler.com/pages/shotmarker
Used by a lot of clubs. Its not as good as a Hexta or Kronsberg, but its about 1/7 the price. Benchrest guys at Reade use their own vs get the Hexta system up and once calibrated the comparison of holes in paper to shots plotted to tablet is dead on. The local 200 yard match runs them and two of the real good across the course clubs in OH that are close run them.

IMO you can't reliably count on even the best spotting scope to see bullet holes consistently beyond 200 yards. Something like this might be worth looking into.

My buddy has the Bullseye target camera. When it works, it’s pretty nice. Not only can you see your hits on target, but if you set it up to do so, it will measure group sizes.
That’s when it works. Problem is, it rarely works. Even at 100 yards, it frequently drops the Wi-Fi connection to the device you’re viewing the picture on. It’s kind of a pain.
I have heard that the Longshot cameras are supposed to be much better than the Bullseye. They do cost more. I just don’t have experience with that one specifically. Based on our experience and reviews I’ve read on the Bullseye, stay away from that one.
