The Chotus(cheeto of the United States) called out Biden today for making such a stupid decision in nominating Chairman Powell to the Fed.
Problem is............ it was him that nominated him in 2017. I wonder if Fox or anyone on the Right will be pointing out the senior moments like we all got to enjoy/fear from the last owg.
It is pretty pathetic when you can't remember nominating the Chairman of the Federal Reserve. Not even joking. Why did we elect another 80 year old? My apologies to any of our resident yet fully aware members, but really.

You lost credibility with your cheeto comment. Both sides need to stop the childish name calling
With that being said Trump made a dumb statement

Trump did nominate him for first 4 years and Biden for the next 4 years.

Because he was the less of the 2 evils!
(Sorry, too easy.)

Chotus?
Ha! Love it.
There needs to be an age limit on elected officials. There’s a time, which varies from person to person. when their cheese has slipped off the cracker. I know no one wants to admit they lost their mind, frankly it terrifies me to lose mine.
But, as sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti, you’re gonna get old, crap your pants, and need to be spoon fed eventually.
So before an elected servant gets to that point, kick them out.

My only argument about this, is that you lost your mind a while ago.

Specifically, 1998 when I got married. All down hill from there.

People can be stupid when it comes to politics, look at Pa. They voted in John Fetterman as Senator, he never had a job, lived with his parents, spent the first six months of his term in a mental hospital, needs assistant devises to understand and communicate and for the first time in our history the Senate has a dress code because he doesn't understand sweat pants and sweat shirts are not appropriate attire in the Senate.
Trump was the only alternative to Bidden or God forbid, the stupid cackling hen who Bidden did his best to hide after her incompetence was discovered. Heck his staff did their best to hide him!
Sit back and enjoy the show, the sequel should be just as entertaining, Newsom vs Vance.

Another side of this coin. . .next election, I will officially be in my late 50's, and there's a decent chance the next POTUS will be the first one younger than me.
I find this fact more than a little unnerving. There's an outdated voice in my head that still thinks the POTUS should be a WWII vet - - you know, an ADULT.

I was just catching up on Clinton because the new distraction The Don is trying. Here is a sad stat on the election of old ass presidents. Bill Clinton was first elected president 32 year ago.
And he is still younger than Trump.

Sooo. . .you're implying that our choices are old and stupid or pure dag-nasty evil?
I'm in the camp of those who feel the crux of the matter is that anyone who would seek the position is probably unworthy of it. What yardstick of mediocrity do you wish to measure by?
There's certainly a problem with age - a guy making policy for 350 million people that carries a nuclear football around needs to be fully functional.
The flip side of this is that any voter who's in their 50's through 70's and still mentally tight is going to see someone in their 40's as lacking world experience and lacking shared cultural experience.
I don't want a doddering, Depends-wearing idiot, but I'm not sure I want someone who has no memory of the Cold War (or give it a few years, 9/11) either.

The point is, the last two have no memory of the Cold War or 9/11 either. Biden couldn't remember when he wiped last, and Orange man can not remember which man he nominated, which trade deal he negotiated, which conspiracy he pushed last week, or which renovations to the Fed he suggested.
I do not care if they remember the cold war or 9/11. I want them to have a sound mind. You can't spend 4 year beating down an old man with dementia, and then elect an old man with dementia.
40s and 50s seems perfect to me. You still have elasticity of mind tempered with worldly experience.
The Don's foreign policy is literally get off my lawn.

It's bad enough that each administration blames its problems on the last. . .but if we elect Goldilocks for president, she'll just spend four years complaining that the world is going to poop because the porridge wasn't right.
I guess we probably want people who are old enough to be parents of adults, but maybe not grandparents of adults. Or at least, not adults by much.

I am not Polyanna. It would be naive to think "nice men" are what's needed. I understand it takes a hard man to make hard decisions. Decisions that might make the civilized weep. It takes a hard man to sit across the table with a dictator that wants to destroy your country. I am also more than 75% curmugeon. Well beyond my age. In ten year when my age matches my current state of curmugeonry I will be fully there. I hate people in general until prove otherwise, and I damn sure don't want you on my lawn. I hate change and have never used venmo, cash ap, or any other form of online payment system. I don't even tap my cards I use the chip reader. I hate self driving cars, I hate screens in my cars, and people can stuff their smart appliances up their sphincter. having said all of that, I can damn sure recognize my way is not future and it will take a different approach to ensure a future for those that follow.
An 80 year old President is not that guy.

There was a Republican primary.
We were given other, younger options. At least if you were in the primary season early enough. (This is part of the reason why I think primaries should be the same day.)

Yep, the one I wanted to vote for had already dropped out by the time our primary rolled around. So I didn't bother voting in it either.

James Carville has been irrelevant for a long time now. his audience are his socks and he has great two way conversations with them.
