After 22 years I finally got my Buckmark back. My daughter had it when she drove from GA to Oregon. It's been in the box for all those years. Ok, that's not vey dramatic news, but I'm so happy to have the gun back I had to share it.

Yep. I can't remember ever shooting it. I've got another one which shoots very well. This one is flat sided; the other one might be but I'm too lazy to unlock my safe and check itout.

Good that it made it home.

I feel better knowing that my daughter is not the only one that shops for guns at Dad’s Gun Emporium.

Mine would just pick a gun I’d just bought, point it at the wall and say, “mine”, and walk away with it. At least your’s returned it!

Mine did the same when she moved out on her own. I bought her very own for her birthday. Instead of giving it back she just said Thanks, now I have two

Love the flat sides

I love the flat sides, DESPISE the gold trigger. Why Browning uses them, I don’t know. Had I kept mine, it was getting painted black.

I've never been a fan of the gold trigger either. A Browning quirk I'm willing to overlook on certain guns so I've learned to ignore them over the years.

As I mentioned earlier, I've got another Buckmark. Before I took the new one out of the box, I went to my safe and got the first one. I couldn't pull the slide back no matter how I tried. At first, I thought it was an older guy thing, since I know I don't have the strength in my arms. Disgustedly I began to mentally line up what guns I have left to sale.

Just for the heck of it, I tried the slide and it worked easily. It was just dirty. So I no longer have any guns for sale.

Ha! I have that “guns for sale” conversation with myself daily now

Everyone bitches over the gold trigger. It doesn't bother me; it's aluminum and looks better anodized than left aluminum white.

Well, they could anodize it black…

They could make it black. Then it wouldn't be a Buckmark. it's a tradition like the bullseye on Marlin rifles. I don't see the problem but others do. I don't know how it would look black. If black and shiny, I think I wouldn't like that.
