"Fresh air Saturday"? It's August in the Arizona desert in a jeep with the windows rolled up, ya got to love AC.
Beautiful place and fun times!
Thanks! AC needed in the valley where it was about 105° We were at about 4-6,000 feet and the windows come down at that point. I’m in Nevada now and the temps where we headed to yesterday were only low 90s around noon. Outright cool by desert summer standards.
The dog was funny. We took breaks to stretch our legs and look around a few times, off roading for hours is a hell of a workout. As much as she LOVES being free to roam off leash and will hike for hours when it’s cool outside, in the heat of summer here she is the first one every time to jump back into the Jeep and look at us like come on fools, it’s hot out there and we still have miles to cover.

Gotta love getting out! Looks like a great time.
Pretty like the Snowy Range but in a different way. We just love being outside and are infinitely grateful we get to do it as often as we do with people we love!

Why do women refuse to wear sensible shoes?
Yeah a lot of them do. I’m lucky my girls (daughter, granddaughter and wife) do wear good shoes MOST of the time and are pretty savvy outdoors folks. But Saturday was an impromptu thing and we knew there’d be very little out of the Jeep time hiking tine because of temp.
Normally she has her hiking shoes on when we head to the desert/mountains.

I vividly recall 20 something years ago going with my wife to Grand Gulf state park in southern Missouri. I said “on our way to (wherever it was we were going) I want to stop by this place and DO SOME HIKING.”
I didn’t pay any attention to her footwear, because I’m a guy. That is until we start down the trail and she says “I can’t do this, I’m wearing flip flops.”
It’s a nice looking place. Believe I need to make a motorbike trip down there to finally see it…

“The shepherd slaughters more of the flock than the wolf ever will.”
WOW, that is a place I'd LOVE to explore!!! And yeah, I am in the habit of checking the girls for appropriate footwear since I've been burned a few times.
