It's a brand I don't have experience with, everything I have wears Leupold. I've been researching scopes for the bullpup and the first requirement was weight. The two I have chosen are Leupold Pig Plex 1.5 x 4 and the SWFA SS MSR 2.5 x 10. They are approx 9.6 oz. and both have transferable life time guarantees. I'm leaning toward the SWFA but have never seen or handled one. Do you have any experience with them?

I have the Leupold pig plex and love it. Sits on my Browning B78 in 45-70. It’s not a lightweight rifle so can’t really comment on its usefulness in that regard.

I think I missed your thread about a bullpup to put these on, but of bullpups I have known, the lower magnification ranges would be more appropriate. At any rate, a 1.5-4 and a 2.5-10 are a bit of an apples to watermelons comparison, whatever the other merits of the optic may be.

Leupold and Vortex are the only names I trust to be around for a lifetime warranty.

I’ve got the same-ish 1-4 Leupold. Different reticle. (That they don’t make anymore) it’s one of my favorite scopes.

The longest shot would be 300 yards from our Castle Blind. On average I'd say most shots should be under 150 yards with still hunting opportunities much less than that.

I have a Vortex on my wife's Mossberg and l like it. They don't make a light weight scope.

I have never looked through one of their scopes, but they are made in the KENKO factory in Japan. The makers of some higher end camera lenses. They keep coming up in my scope searches also.

Zero experience with SWFA so can't comment but I REALLY LIKE that Leupold and that reticle in particular. Have to look into that one a little harder.

I have had two friends own SWFA under the Super Sniper name. The one moved on when he could afford better, but the scope worked great. I shot that rifle with that scope, and it was more than serviceable. The other friends went belly up, and they replaced it, no questions asked. I am not really endorsing them just passing on the experience. I have a couple of 1-4 leupolds, one of them a hogplex and have had no issues and like them both.

While going through the Leupold website I found something interesting. In the old days they used to make some of their scopes like the Shotgun models and others Parallax free at 75 yards which actually makes sense. Now they seem to have standardized for everything including their shotgun and muzzleloader scopes to 150 yard parallax free setting. AND there is no more custom shop to allow you to order otherwise. I wonder if it is as easy to DIY this on a Leupold as other scopes... hummmmm. Fortunately their rimfire scopes are still set for 60 yards.

I have an older "shotgun" VX II 2-7 that is parallax free at 75 yards and actually it's mounted on my favorite rimfire, the .22 Steyr Zephyr. I think I'll order a true rimfire Leupold for that gun and save the VX II for a "woods" gun.

I've had several SWFA scopes and have enjoyed them. They generally carry a good reputation. The only reason I sold the ones I had was they went with the guns I sold as a package.

I was going to mention it, but most SWFA scopes are FFP. The one you linked to is SFP.

A friend had one on his Barrett 50BMG. I fired it a couple of times. It was clear and nice, and held up to the recoil.

Besides that, I know nothing about them
