Finally have my own 6 ARC.

Been testing this cartridge off and on for a couple years. In a few different platforms for the Shoe Store. The Jackasses jumped on board and have been helping me. I’ve seen the cartridge and platform problems. So, I was reluctant to get a platform of my own. Bolt gun doesn’t make sense as a .243 Win or 6 CM would be better suited. A gas gun didn’t make sense because of feed and reliability issues still being worked out.
Then, CVA made a fast twist SP. color me interested. Just slightly shorter than the gas guns I’ve been testing. And a fast enough twist to use the bullets this cartridge was designed for. Not to mention, I like SPs. And a light recoil option is nice to introduce new shooters.
Therefore, I caved.

CVA Scout Pistol
6 ARC
Badger Brake
Leupold 3-9x TS-30 A2

I have plenty of factory ammo to test through it for accuracy and terminal performance. Plus, a lot of once fired brass and all the reloading components. Along with plenty of other 6mm bullets to try.
This will be my primary handgun for the upcoming hunting season. Lots of science to write down. Should be fun.

KOOL. Did it come with a threaded barrel? Or did you have it done?

Neat combination. I am not surprised that you would go this route. Looking forward to your results.

Highly interested in accuracy results. This one might make me take the plunge to SPs.

Nice. Is that going to used on a tripod, needs mounts still? Are barrels interchangeable like on contenders?

Im not sure about the pistol specifically, but my .44 Mag Scout requires the removal of the pivot pin to change barrels. This pin is not really intended to be removed too many times. My .350 Legend take down is a different story, but the take down barrels are different from normal CVA break action barrels.

That's pretty cool. I've kind of been waiting for your assessment of the 6 ARC in a gas gun. Like you, I don't see it in a bolt when I have a .243 and SP, while cool, are just not my thing.

Cool find!

CVA has me moderately stockless rifle curious. Can the barrels be swapped like you could with TC?

No, unless they totally changed the gun. I have one in .223 and the muzzle isn't threaded like Zs. Big improvement

I still might be interested in a .223 or even a .308, but that makes me less interested.

I have nothing but love for my CVA pistol. Mine is in .243, and I have made my second longest shot on steel with it.

Nice score!

Just buy a TC barrel in 6 arc. You’ve already got dies and supplies, and it’s technically not a gun.

I’ve already got a bolt gun and gas gun in 6ARC. Got the higher pressure, faster loads and lower pressure, slower loads covered. No need to neuter the cartridge even more. ;) Although, I would think the Scout should handle the higher pressure loads and probably match AR ballistics.. 🤷🏻‍♂️
