My ‘son’ and I spent this morning on the range at our Club, shooting replica Baker rifles with Garry James and Evan Brune from American Rifleman. A colleague from work knows Garry from the re-enactor community, and we had a great time.
Baker rifles are from the Napoleonic era, and saw service in at the Alamo and in the Mexican War. These replicas are surprisingly accurate at 50 yards, but I still shot better with my Winchester 1892.
Phil Schrier was planning on joining us but wasn’t feeling well. Otherwise a splendid time was had by all!
I rarely get "starstruck" which is why a former NFL friend didn't mind introducing me to other players and former players, whose names you'd recognize.
That said, Garry James and Evan Brune would leave me starstruck.
Looks like a fun time
