I looked at the screen ans said "Holy {expletive deleted}" the guy who was running the match who is much better than most people with a rifle including me, looked at his screen and said "Holy {expletive deleted}" and that made me laugh.

Second string was a 100 5x so total 200-14x

X is about the size of a snuff can, 10 shots sitting position with sling start empty, load a magazine, fire 2, drop mag, load mag finish under 60 seconds.

Impressive
Seems you've really turned the corner with your shooting at all levels.

200 yards.
Service rifle. 4.5 min trigger 4.5x max scope. Think AR restrictor plate racing. You can do some things to it but the regs keep it more service rifle ish.
Trying to be like this, except older and fatter.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c37LK3b9tCk

NRA short range target
No. SR Military "Target, Rifle, Competition, Short Range."
Aiming Black-(inches)--Rings in White-(inches)
X ring--------3.00__________ 8 ring--------19.00
10 ring-------7.00 __________ 7 ring--------25.00
9 ring-------13.00 __________ 6 ring--------31.00
_______________________ 5 ring--------37.00

My prone rapid at 300 where the rings were the same size was a 100 5x and a 96 3x. Wind was getting whippy and 4 crawled into the 9 on the right.

Interesting video. I’d like to try that.

You need a real sling, not a carry strap, that you can fix above your bicep. A hasty sling can be used, but its not going to get the support you need for comp. Hunting, its fine. A 10 dollar GI web sling works to start and a work glove.
If you are right handed, the right leg is under the left. Get the rifle under your head. Get your front arm back and under the rifle.
Loosen your belt or you will get pulse from your haybag.
Bend at the hips not at the waist, or you will get pulse from your haybag.

NICE!

Given the period that I was in the game, scopes in Highpower seem a little alien, but truth is, we're now getting kids coming out of the military onto the department that were running optics on their rifles in basic training.

If the game truly is "Service Rifle", it's good that things are changing to address what has become standard gear like ACOGs and Aimpoints.
WWJMBD?

I believe we should stand on Ceremony. . . while our friends handcuff the sanctimonious little prick and take him away.

A couple years ago I shot a 30 round 200 yard match with my match rifle and then a reentry with my A1234 open sight. I beat my scoped score by one point.
When I started a 469 was pretty much going to get points at nationals, this year the cut was 475, so it went up some. but it went up across the board. Everyone races on the same track so its not going to single out anyone, it doesnt take away the need to learn to hold, use a trigger, NPA ect. in fact it keeps more in the game. Its still hard.

This was just a moment of brilliance that I thought was pretty cool, not a SOP.
