Where to find parts for older Mossberg shotguns

Post by Freezer »

A friend asked me to look at his Mossberg 9200 because the safety wasn't engaging. I'm familiar with it because I've had a 5500 nmk II for 35 years and worked on a few others. Havlin has been my go-to supplier but I believe, after my last phone call to them, they have gone out of business. I spent hour on the net last night trying to find a supplier without luck. I'll make some phone calls today but I'm not confident. Do you have a source for Mossberg parts?

Havlin's website says they're not using the phone anymore due to health and hearing issues. You can still order online.

I’ve bought a few parts from Numrich in the past.

Google search yields most safety related parts in stock.

Seems like a simple question but are you certain that the original parts need to be replaced?

No! Just due diligence before I start a project that will be pro bono, I'm not a gunsmith.

As I suspected it's the bolt buffer, it's in pieces. Now I need to find one.

I just got off the phone with Mossberg, They no longer make the part and can't repair it even if I send it to them! I have had it with Mossberg! After the last fight with them over a rifle that wouldn't group.....Never again!

The link I provided shows out of stock. Your friends probably hooped.

Shame they made a trash product, but you can’t fault them for not making parts for a gun they no longer manufacture.

How do 3 d printers work? If I have a buffer can it be scanned and printed?

Yes.

How long it will last is another question.
