Who says there are no good pawn shop deals…
Soooooo, mother-in-law tells my wife to put money in my account for Christmas and I happen to be browsing a local pawn shop’s website that I know usually has decent deals AND they allow you to make “offers” online. There’s a 5.5” Ruger New Vaquero in .45 Colt basically LNIB that has been sitting there for a bit and they lowered the already good price price by 30%!!! Soooooo, not really thinking they’d accept I put in a ridiculous offer…. And 5 mins later they said yes!!!
Wife said she’ll kick in the balance which is not much and bingo!
She’ll ride mostly on this crossdraw Bianchi Frontier Leather holster and matching belt.
Stags to follow, maybe. Might do something different with this one.

So many cool offerings in 45 Colt. Wish I could get excited about the cartridge but I just can’t.

That's not how it's done! You have to physically get out there to find these treasures, the hunt is the fun! Not let your fingers do the walking!!
BTW you suck! Nice find .45 Colt is my favorite classic pistol round!

Re: Who says there are no good pawn shop deals…
I keep looking at the Mammoth grips and there are some absolutely spectacular specimens out there. The problem is that I like a certain look in ALL my guns and I already KNOW I LOVE ivory, but if I start down that path it'll be a ridiculously expensive proposition unless I can control myself and there is very little chance of that happening...
The other issue is that grip makers that do ivory seem to have started doing just 1911s. Mostly because they are easier to make and they do not require the fitting that SA grips need. The only folks that still do SA grips for the Ruger want $750 for grips and they are currently only doing Old Vaquero/BH grips.
